Care Institute of Health Sciences (CIHS) strives to integrate education, research
and patient care, under the broad areas of health education and community care. The high quality
programs leverage technology like simulation and Learning Management Systems in order to impart
knowledge and hands-on practice on skills essential for enhanced patient care and safety, as also for
improved clinical outcomes. CIHS partners with apex bodies like National Skill Development Corporation
(NSDC) and Society for Emergency Medicine India (SEMI), as well as world leaders in simulation and
medical education, such as Laerdal (Norway), Alfred Health (Australia), Global Health Alliance (UK),
American Heart Association (USA) and others.
The comprehensive range of training programs incorporates career pathways, life skills and soft skills like teamwork and communication. Another wing of CIHS focuses on community care by providing home-based healthcare and conducting preventive and management programs for non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The key sub-entities of CIHS are :
The knowledge and skills of healthcare providers is of paramount importance. Besides domain skills and bio-sciences, the academic curriculum around healthcare systems science should be holistic and, consequently, include subjects like leadership, health economics, informatics and IT, as well as promote team-based inter/multi disciplinary care. However, clinical excellence and speciality based quality services must continue to be the bedrock upon which other systems function. We must also inculcate the habit of reading and promote informal learning. Continuous education is a vital need.
At Safercare, hi-fidelity manikins, curated course content & replicated clinical scenarios facilitate the training of healthcare providers (doctors, nurses, paramedics, medical/nursing students, community) in over 70 simulation based courses, covering all key specialties.
EduMed offers multi-modal, non-simulation, internationally certified training programs to enhance career opportunities for doctors and nurses, based on the ‘learn while you earn’ model.
Wings of Care partners with corporates and state governments to conduct skill development programs for rural youth across the country, also ensuring their placement in the healthcare industry. Training is presently being conducted in 16 courses at under and graduate levels across 15 centers in India.
